The Inspire! Youth Series

A Brief History

The Inspire! Youth Series was developed by ropes course veterans and a talented team of designers to fill a void in the activity resource market. Until now, most people searched the Internet, thumbed through dozens of “25,000 games to make your kids go crazy” books, or attended expensive training to obtain new and creative youth leadership ideas. There was no option between the dry, hard to understand books, and face-to-face training.

The Inspire! Youth Series provides a completely new resource. It takes the best qualities of books and combines them with full motion video. It is interactive. It is reusable. It is user paced. It is training on your schedule, and, it is affordable. No more wasting time trying to decipher activities from a book; you can actually watch them in action before you go out and work with a group. For the first time, without actually being involved in the activity, you can have a very clear understanding of what each activity will look like, and how they are to be led.

LearningChange wanted to make these powerful and meaningful activities available to all who wish to use them. So many times people get locked-in to excuses like “I don’t know how to do it because I have never seen it done,” and “I just didn’t understand it from the text.” LearningChange created The Inspire! Youth Series to help make the facilitation process easier, less expensive, more accessible, more fun and much more understandable.

LearningChange continues to develop state-of-the-art technology to help teach difficult concepts that make learning fun, as well as adaptable across cultures, borders, and continents.

How to Use this Software

We believe that learning does not have to be particularly boring and change especially painful. Life is to be enjoyed, not endured. And we want to help people enjoy the progress of their lives by respecting their experiences, challenging their assumptions, and helping them reinvent, if need be, their claims about how their actions impact our world.

Simply put, this CD-ROM was developed to make the process of learning and facilitating experiential activities and methodology more understandable, enjoyable, affordable and…easy. People learn best when they are physically, emotionally, and intellectually involved in doing something and making sense of it. Experiential education gives students cause to interact, work together, communicate and learn from one another without many of the restrictions or biases found in traditional education.

The activities on this CD-ROM are not intended to replace traditional classroom instruction, instead, they provide teachers and trainers with new approaches to stimulating their students. We believe that discovery and invention take wing when intuition, imagination, and inspiration are engaged. To make space for such leaps of knowledge, we must appreciate the experience of the learner and make possible activities that fuel the imagination, heighten intuition, and lift inspiration above taken-for-granted places.

The effort of this CD-ROM is to create a community of teachers, trainers and community leaders who value the benefits of experiential education and share, promote, support and offer advice to each other through a series of interconnected online communities.
